The ‘idiot’ has done it again; Aamir has, yet again, vanquished his rival Shah Rukh Khanin the National honours as on the event of India’s 60th Republic Day, Aamir Khan got the honorary Padma Bhushan; something which SRK hasn’t yet bagged.
Riding high on his success in the all time highest Bollywood grosser ‘3 Idiots’, Aamir has been honoured for his unfathomable contribution to the Indian cinema in the last 2 decades. But; especially, post 2000, Aamir has climbed the ladder up and high with films like ‘Sarfarosh’, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and Oscar-nominated ‘Lagaan’ apart from other biggies like ‘Ghajini’, ‘Rang De Basanti’ and the cult ‘Dil Chahta Hai’.
In 2003, Aamir had got the Padma Shri award; 2 years before the so called ‘King Khan’ got it. So, SRK may have to wait for a bit longer to get the 3rd highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan which his arch-rival Aamir can now proudly boast of.
After all, even Aamir can say, ‘My Name is Khan.’
